I have more questions and angst (posted a blog about immediately before seeing this post via Twitter) than answers. Curiously reading along to learn.

You are funny! I would go for the Zuckerberg battle for sure. Great pr. I’m going to steal your line about the grandkids reading them.

I bet my great grandkids will be reading your book. I love your Shakespeare title.

I used to go to the elementary school and read books to the kids when I was in high school. I love your idea of contacting the preschools. Preschool parents would love to buy them I’m sure. I wonder if working with your local library would be helpful. The library here in Coronado and San Diego always seems to be supporting local authors.

thank you for the tip about “are they selling” — great clue.

I’m in awe of this process. I know now why it’s still a big deal to get a book published. Just doing the proposal was wild. Without the help of my life-partner, Michael, I wouldn’t have gotten through that.

hope your writing is going well. Give a shout for coffee if you’re ever in SoCal.

Stephanie

(Amazon self-published btw) I love writing illustrating! Love developing the stories… but the marketing makes me cringe. I’m about to send a sample book, and invitation for me to read more of my books — to preschools in the area — and ter-ri-fied! I’ve a book series started with Who in the Hoot is Shakespeare.
I’m threatening to write a Who in the Hoot is Mark Zuckerberg. Maybe the 20-somethings will think it’s cute. Maybe he’ll sue me.
I console myself wit writing more books… planing more books to write, –and working on illustrations and collaborations with everyone from local Artist Travis Shorey, to the 6 year old daughter of the recept at my dentist’s office.

When helpful, or not so helpful friends ask if the books are selling… I say, if I’m lucky my grand-kids will read them, if I’m really lucky, your grandchildren will read them.

Do you think Mark Zuckerberg will look good as an owl?
