When we set out to do the festival, Sande, Liz and I lowered our expectations of making sales and raised our expectations that we would simply have a good time together, rain or shine. That carried us a long way! At so many events, be they festivals, bookstore signings, or library presentations, the sales are, unfortunately, minimal. But for newbie authors, the experience is valuable. At least for awhile. And, at the BKBF, we sold more books than we anticipated. A bonus, so to speak.

Thanks for sharing such rich tips! Will be a help for the Virginia Festival of the book in March. It’s a big one for anyone who’s interested. Applications must be in by the end of this month.
