Some of us who have always had our work soundly applauded and accepted quickly have perhaps a more difficult time with rejection. Not sure about that. But as a former professor, I learned to steel myself for rejections from academic journals, sometimes purely because my “methodology” was not one of the editor’s favorites. To be a novelist in particular, I think, requires the ability to accept rejection with grace and move on. “Nevertheless, she persisted” applies to so many of us, including women writers. Thank you!
