I’m really glad you told your story because, even though I’ve published my debut novel and am working on two, have many short stories published, and serve on the boards of two writer’s guilds, I feel like I squandered much of my time over these 5 years. I hope that the realization of how hard it is for most of the authors out there will help spur me to develop practices that will allow me to be more productive.
