I feel like I spent a lot of time doing just that. And even now, a year after the publication of my first novel, I sometimes catch myself out apologising for it in some way. I couldn’t have read this at a better time and it is always helpful to remind myself to feel proud of what I have achieved. Your book sounds great btw, really unique idea.
