Thanks Stacey,I just checked out your website, lots for me to read there. I am a reluctant public speaker who has a public speaker trapped in a genie bottle I think (grin), and when the time is right I am thinking about toastmasters so thanks for your site.

The answers are within and writing from where you are is so healing. My book was written through me in many a sense as I was going through a time of struggle and simply asked myself ‘what do I need to know today?’And the answers came. I read my own book now as it soothes and comforts any fear or challenge taking place. Something I never thought I would be doing.

The biggest gift given in guidance was to embrace ‘what is’ and to not fight against it, but surrender into it. For me this has brought the greatest self-kindness.

Thanks for commenting. And looking forward to your new book (smile).

Congratulations on your book. I love this line: “they all were trying to get me to feel happy and positive.” The industry keeps telling us to be happier. Sometimes unhappy is what the situation deserves. We do a disservice when people aren’t allowed to feel everything!

I teach a lot of stress management programs and a question I often hear is “How do I stop feeling so overwhelmed”. I realized that I can’t tell people how to stop. I can offer them questions and strategies to tune in. I’ve been thinking of writing a book of questions – the ones that helped me. Because I believe the answer we seek are within us already. Sometimes we need some guidance, a question and quiet.

Also love this: “The world needed fewer candy floss ‘happy’ motivators and more real people writing from where they are.”

In a world saturated with thoughts on how to be authentic, I’m not sure many people are (yet).

That said, I share your sentiments about the self-help industry. While our end products may be different, based on your blog post we write from a similar place. I appreciate that you took initiative to share your experiences and thoughts in a book. Good luck.

Hi Susan, thank you. Yes, just read your article and could not agree more, we have a similar thoughts about life.

There are a lot of people who are feeling like a failure in this current climate and so many feeling invisible, many feeling rage, jealousy and so much more and it’s a subject not many talk about. I hope my book helps support your daughter through her journey and that you enjoy it too.

Let me know what you think when finished.

I was browsing wwwb and was intrigued by the premise of your book. I didn’t see the subtitle ’til after I read your post, and then I was struck by “Saying Goodbye to Not Good Enough.”

I hope you will take a moment to read my recent post “Am I Good Enough?” Meanwhile, I’m going to get your book for my daughter, who has been experiencing a rash of “failures” lately. (Or perceived failures) Very deep and pertinent subject for our demanding times.

I’m looking forward to reading your book.
