It can also be ‘out of practice’ as I am indeed where the piano is concerned. If I go to it now after a gap I will play all the wrong notes but gradually improve until it flows. I too have The Artist’s Way and believe in the morning pages.

The Artist’s Way was undeniably a pivotal “experience” for me. viii is so important and I need constant reminders of this (and lots of privacy, which I rarely have). Thank you for so many really helpful tips!

I’ve been writing professionally for over thirty-five years, and I still feel like a beginner. Thanks for these great writing tips. I plan to start my third novel Jan. 2014, and I’m drinking in your advice. I know all the tips but it never hurts to take a “refresher” course.

I shared this on Twitter and Facebook.

All the best,

Kathleen

Fifteen years ago, I read it over a summer, completing one chapter/assignment a week. The week I finished , I joined my first creative writing group. That got me on the path to writing two womens novels, Peace by Piece and Cape Maybe, earning an MFA and so much more.
Thanks for shaing your tips. Carol
