I love being able to help people – mostly women – find their voice and learn to trust it. Learn to trust that what they have to say is what others want to hear, want to read and want to share. It’s a great moment when someone takes hold of their story and realises what is possible for them.

It had never occurred to me to have an “author’s statement” or that, as solitary as writing can be, it is still possible to be in community. I showed up with a fledgling start of something and left with encouragement, inspiration, confidence and commitment.

As with working out, I find it more pleasant to create within a group. I am more likely to hold myself accountable for goals and deadlines because I feel that upholding the integrity of the group is largely my responsibility.
