And yet there it is. While I’ve been waiting for my memoir about my firefighting days to be released next May, I have been writing about “women firsts” in my blog. It is quite amazing what women have accomplished not only as the first woman, but as the first person to have done these things. And yet, women are still seen as inferior. How frustrating to see that although it’s been 40 years since I faced discrimination working on a fire crew, that women are still being treated in the same way. Why aren’t parents teaching their sons equality?
